It all began with a trip to Costa Rica. A family adventure, unforgettable landscapes, and the wish to create a truly personal place, in harmony with nature.
The early memories
Some trips are like no other. This one marked the start of a family adventure that is still going on today.
On that first trip to Costa Rica, the family discovered breathtaking nature, a unique light, and a way of life closer to what really matters.
From that trip grew a deep attachment to Playa Negra, its landscapes and its atmosphere, and the wish to build a genuine, warm and deeply personal place there.
A first trip, love at first sight… and the start of a beautiful story.
The birth of Los Nancites
After that first trip, one thing became clear: this is where, in Playa Negra, the family wanted to take their story in a new direction.
This part of Costa Rica had something special. The family soon found a piece of land that matched what they were looking for, in an area still far from the usual tourist trail.
What followed was built step by step, and not without challenges. A team of Costa Rican and Nicaraguan workers came together around the project and helped build the estate.
The project also became a story of loyalty and human connection: some of the people who joined this adventure have been working alongside the family for more than fifteen years.
A place built together, and a human adventure that continues.
The family & the team
Los Nancites is, above all, a family and people who know each other, work together and share the same story.
Christian and Annie started this family adventure with their son Sylvain. Alongside them, Daniel and Otto have been part of the project from the very beginning. Caroline has also joined the team, bringing her energy and her flair for hospitality and organization.
Over time, these relationships have become an essential part of Los Nancites. They are also why the estate has kept its family feel.
Our commitments
Protecting nature has been part of our story since the late 1980s. At Los Nancites, that commitment continues through reforestation, on our own land and with our neighbors.
